8 Years Of Being in Therapy

First off, I’ve gotta give a massive shoutout to the amazing community that’s had my back time and time again. Right after my mom and sis, it’s my therapists I’m thanking my lucky stars for. They didn’t just nod along – they helped me figure out how to live life on my terms, even when I needed to take breaks.

Let me share a bit of my story with you.

For 8 years, I was on a rollercoaster ride with therapy. It wasn’t a straight path – more like a winding road with plenty of stops along the way. Why? Because, let’s be real, therapy can be exhausting. Reliving trauma and feeling that pain again… it’s tough stuff.

Now, here’s the kicker: I worked with 6 different mental health practitioners over those 8 years! Yep, you heard that right. Why so many? Well, life has its chapters, and each therapist was there for a different part of my story.

Some periods I was all in, other times I needed a breather. It’s all part of the healing process, right? Those therapy sessions? Eye-opening doesn’t even begin to cover it. I realized I was pretty clueless about my feelings, among other things. Crazy, right? But even with the hard parts, I found myself looking forward to those sessions. They were my lifeline.

This 8-year journey, with all its ups and downs? It’s what sparked Vinyasa. I wanted to give back to the mental health pros who make such a huge difference in people’s lives, even when the path isn’t straight or easy. And that’s how Vinyasa was born – a platform to support therapists, inspired by my winding path to healing.
